The Global Supplier Award is a coveted industry trophy

Röthlein / Dresden (nib). Great joy at logistics specialist Schäflein AG: the company, headquartered in Röthlein near Schweinfurt, has now received the Bosch Global Supplier Award. The award for the technology and service company is regarded as an “accolade” in the industry. The Bosch Group works with around 35,000 suppliers and service providers worldwide. Every two years, Bosch honours those suppliers from its huge pool who have distinguished themselves through their particularly excellent quality and above-average performance over the past 24 months. In the logistics sector, the family-run Schäflein AG was one of the few 46 companies to be honoured in various categories. “We are overwhelmed and incredibly pleased,” says Achim Schäflein, CEO of Schäflein AG. “This award confirms our tireless commitment to delivering top performance for our customers every day. All of our 2,400 employees have won this award!” The award ceremony took place in Dresden, where Bosch operates its newest semiconductor plant. The plant is one of the most modern of its kind in the world and, at around one billion euros, is the largest single investment in the company’s more than 130-year history. Schäflein operates 34 logistics locations in Germany, Austria and Poland. The company, which was founded in 1939, has a total of 480,000 square metres of logistics space. Schäflein is active in various areas: Transport, warehouse logistics, production supply, value-added services and Europe-wide container management are examples. Bernd Schäflein, CEO and Head of Operations at Schäflein AG, emphasises the importance of the award: “The companies that are recognised by a global corporation for their outstanding work can do something. And they do it continuously. This is an internationally recognised seal of quality. Size and location are irrelevant. What matters is commitment, flexibility and fairness.” Schäflein AG relies exclusively on the best possible commitment that it can deliver as a logistics professional. This is emphasised by the recruitment of over 30 trainees in each training year. “Anyone who joins the Schäflein team is given every opportunity to work their way up the career ladder,” say the two board members. “From day one, we exemplify quality and reliability and are delighted that our team follows our idea of being top performers.”
